Coaches had been invited to nominate players born in 2019 or 2020. We received 15 nominations from 8 coaches / venues. The aim of the Festival is to enable the young players to meet new players from other venues and inspire them to start competing in local competitions, if not already doing so.
The Festival started with a warm-up including ladder work and the second sessions was on racket skills followed by rallying qualities. The Festival finished with a matchplay session.
All the players had a great fun and were very enthusiastic and we would like to say a big thank you to Joe Revelle, Jack Ison and Lily Bebbington for running the Festival.
Joe commented that it was encouraging to see so many young players loving the game from an early age and we hope the experience helps to promote our sport and develops the love of competition.
Following on from the Festival, Joe has organised a Hampshire & IOW Tennis Red Matchplay Circuit from November 2025 – April 2026 giving players new to competition a great introduction and the best start to their competitive journey. The details are:-

Saturday 14th March – Basingstoke Indoor Tennis Centre 3.30 – 5.30 pm
Saturday 25th April – Totton & Eling Tennis Centre 1.30 – 3.30 pm
The next Red Festival will be held after Easter 2026.
