Support for Coaches with Hampshire & IOW

Hampshire and IOW Tennis is dedicated to maintaining a committed and passionate workforce within the county, supporting venues, coaching providers, parks, leisure providers and anyone who develops community, performance and / or competitive tennis.

What do we offer?

  • Coach Bursary scheme – subsidising the qualifications pathway
  • Coach Traineeship – developing coaches who wish to embark on a career in the sport
  • Part-time coaching – support for coaches who are looking to do some part-time hours, potentially alongside a different career, or in order to work more flexibly
  • Hampshire & IOW Coach Network – the opportunity to connect with other local tennis coaches
  • Annual Coaching Conference delivered by the LTA
  • Ongoing continual professional development opportunities provided by uCoach
  • County Cup Captains – there are paid roles within the county setup for coaches to lead junior County Cup teams and to take County Training

Hampshire & IOW Coach Network

The Hampshire and IOW Coach Network aims to support Accredited Coaches of all levels that live or work in the county.  It provides the opportunity for coaches to hear key LTA and county updates, discuss local topics and share best practice with other local coaches. There is a WhatsApp group for coaches to share ideas, post opportunities or just ask for support.

There is one Coach Network meeting per year, with guest speakers invited, providing coaches with the opportunity to attend some high-quality CPD and gain some points through the LTA’s Independent Learning.

Coach Bursary Scheme

Hampshire & IOW Tennis is committed to growing and diversifying the coaching workforce and to providing grants to attract people from all backgrounds to the career of tennis coaching.

Coaching Traineeship

Kickstart your career in tennis coaching, by securing a full time employed role, fully-funded LTA Coach Qualifications, and potential earnings of £25-30,000 per annum by the time you graduate in 18-24 months

Part-time coaching

Become a part-time coach to support you whilst at university, as part of a portfolio career, or if you looking for a new opportunity having stopped working

UCoach

UCoach is the County's Coach Development Centre and they deliver coaching qualifications and continued professional development (CPD) to coaches in a learning oriented enironment
