Hampshire & IOW Tennis (HIOWT) has launched a new scheme to support our Level 4 & Level 5 Coaches 

Join a group of L4/L5 coaches looking to access quality, tailored CPD provision. Hampshire & IOW Tennis (HIOWT) working in association with Virtus Leisure, is keen to offer a more personalised and bespoke CPD opportunities, which we feel will be better suited and more impactful to experienced coaches.

We also hope to use this group to create a community of Head/Lead Coaches who can then mentor younger coaches in Hampshire & IOW. Members of the community can also utilise the network to ask questions and get support of their fellow senior coaches. 

The Scheme will be led by Marc Codling, LTA L5 Coach, Tutor and Coach Liaison Lead for HIOWT. CPD will be a mixture of Face to Face and online Workshops.

This scheme is only open to LTA Accredited/Accredited+ coaches, and it is our intention to offer as many of the 15 annual credits that are required each year for Accreditation+ as possible. Coaches must be working at an LTA-registered venue within Hampshire & IOW.

Scheme Start Date – January 2026

Basic overview of the programme

• delivered as a partnership between HIOWT and Virtus Leisure, with tailored CPD opportunities offered
• open to L4 or L5 coaches working within Hampshire & IOW (plus L3s who are working as Head Coaches)
• open to part- and full-time coaches, employed or self-employed
• a mixture of formal and informal learning opportunities
• a community of coaches who will shape the delivery of tennis across Hampshire & IOW
• mentoring and support provided by HIOWT
• CPD courses will need to be paid for by the participants, however, a subsidy is provided by HIOWT
• for informal sessions, coaches will need to reflect on their learning and apply for CPD Credit through Independent Learning
