The ladies were competing in Group 2a this year at Southampton.
The other counties in the division were: Nottinghamshire, Somerset, Warwickshire
The Team was: Summer Colling, Freya Davies, Debbie Hale, Lisa Hanley, Isla Hignett, Charlotte Howard, Lauren Howard, Taro Keens, Hannah Smith
Day 1 vs Somerset
The singles players were: Lisa, Charlotte, Taz, Freya, Lauren, Hannah
All won fairly comfortably apart from Charlotte and Lauren who lost in 2 close sets.
The doubles players were: Taz and Charlotte, Debbie and Lisa, Freya and Hannah
The doubles pairs won very comfortably only losing 4 games between them! End of day result 7-2 to Hampshire & IOW.
Day 2 vs Warwickshire
The singles players were: Lisa, Charlotte, Taz, Freya, Hannah, Summer
All the players won their singles apart from Lisa who lost in 3 sets. Charlotte fought hard to win her match in 3 sets.
The doubles pairs were: Taz and Lauren, Debbie and Lisa, Freya and Hannah
Both Debbie and Lisa and Freya and Hannah won their matches taking the end of day result to 7-2 to Hampshire & IOW.
Day 3 vs Nottinghamshire
The singles players were: Lisa, Charlotte, Taz, Freya, Lauren, Hannah
All the singles players won their matches apart from Taz who fought hard but sadly lost in 3 sets.
The doubles players were: Taz and Lottie, Debbie and Isla, Freya and Hannah
Despite being 5-1 up the team played the first two of the doubles matches which we also managed to win. End of day result 7-1 to Hampshire & IOW.
It was a fabulous performance from all of the Hampshire & IOW team and we’re really proud to have been promoted back to Group 1.
