We were in Group B with Sussex and Bedfordshire.
Day 1 v Sussex
Sussex were very strong and we could only manage one singles win for Jude at number one and we managed a win at number one doubles due to a walk-over.
Day 2 v Bedfordshire
The next match was against Bedfordshire. We got off to a great start with singles wins at 4 (Alexander), 3 (Archie) and 2 (Reggie) and also managed to win both doubles giving us a 5-2 win and a great effort from all the boys.
Day 2 v Berkshire (play-off for 3rd / 4th place)
For our final match we were up against Berkshire and after the singles we were at 2-2 with wins from Reggie and Archie and 3-3 after the doubles with a great win at doubles one with Jude and Reggie. In the match shoot-out, Jude teamed up with Archie who despite a strong start couldn’t quite get the win, but giving us 4th place.
Overall, we had a great weekend. Thanks to the players for giving their all and parents for their support and also to Dan Lobb, who did a great job as my Assistant Captain.
