Held on Thursday 20th June at Winchester Sport and Leisure Park, the Festival is targeted at less active young people in years 4, 5 and 6, not already engaged in clubs outside of school or school teams. Schools were invited to attend and were pre-allocated a timetable of activity prior to their arrival at the Festival.
The aim of the Festival, which is not a competition, is to provide a positive, uplifting experience of sports and physical activity. Schools were provided with an opportunity to try 4 of the 40+ activities being provided.
Tennis was one of the activities and there were four x 1 hr sessions held on one third of the Astro pitch. We had 11 schools from Hampshire & IOW take part, each with 10 children.
