Catherine Gunn stood in for Debbie Hale as Team Captain.

Day 1 v Bedfordshire

Our singles players, Ellie and Lauren were making their debuts for the 35s team and Ellie had a great start with a 6-0, 6-1 win so going into the doubles we were 1-1.  The two Catherine’s won both their doubles and Ellie and Rachel won the final doubles so a great 4-1 win on day 1.

Day 2 v Avon

We were against Avon on day 2 who had also won on day 1.  We started really well with both Ellie and Rachel winning the singles – Rachel winning 10-8 in the match tie-break.  So 2-0 going into the doubles.  We had the same doubles pairs as day 1 (Catherine & Catherine, Ellie & Rachel) and unfortunately Avon were too tough for us although the two Catherines had a close match and lost the match tie-break 7-10.  A narrow 2-3 loss.

Day 3 v Norfolk

Ellie and Lauren played the singles so we were 1-1 going into the doubles.  Rachel and Catherine Mckeracher paired up and won 10-4 in the match tie-break.  The other two doubles weren’t played as we had won 2-1.

Well done to the Team who finished the weekend second in the Group.
