What a great weekend for our Men’s O35s County Cup team – Timothy Farthing, Roche John Martin Alexis, Ashley Neaves, Thomas Perkins (Captain), Simon Taylor

Day 1 v Avon

Tim had a tough first match v Burnham Arlidge, who used to play for HIOW Tennis, losing 4-10 in the match tie-break and Ash had a great 6-0, 6-4 win so 1-1 going into the doubles.  Tom and Simon won their first doubles 6-4, 7-6 but couldn’t win their second and Tim and Roche lost their doubles.  A 3-2 win!

Day 2 v Cornwall

Tim and Ash played the singles and won quite easily and the doubles pairs stayed the same as day 1 – Tom and Simon and Tim and Roche and we were able to win all three so a great 5-0 win!

Day 3 v Herefordshire and Worcestershire

We were playing for promotion on the final day and it started well with Simon and Ash winning their singles.  Roche and Tom won their doubles 10-5 in the match tie-break and Tim and Simon won 6-4, 6-4 so we had won and gained promotion.  The final result was 4-1.

Well done to the team on a fantastic result and a ‘shout-out’ for Ash who stayed undefeated in singles since he joined the team.
