Our 14U Boys County Cup team qualified for the Finals from Play-off Group 1B held over the weekend of Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th April at The Weald LTC, Hassocks.
The Team was: Ben Coxon, William Durman, Samuel Fussell, Edwin James Vopson, Ollie Wright, Scott Yates
Team Captains: James Neate and Callum Li
The first match of the weekend was against Avon and we won all the singles but lost the two doubles so the result was a 4-2 win. The second match on the Saturday was against Hertfordshire and again the boys came away with a 4-2 win, this time winning both the doubles and singles 1 and 2.
So, with two wins on the first day, we had to play Sussex on day 2 to see who qualified for the Finals. It was very close with three of the matches going to a match tie-break and after the singles and doubles we were 3-3 so it went down to a match shoot-out, which we fortunately won!
