Day 1 – West of Scotland
Our first match was against a very strong West of Scotland team. We got off to a slow start losing the first two singles, but we got an important win from Hayden at 4 and wins at 2 and 1 from Arthur and George taking it to the doubles. Tuna and Hari had a great win at number 3 and George and Arthur managed to come through in the 3rd set tie-break to give us a vital win.
Day 2 – Leicestershire
On the second day we had to play the loser of the other tie which was Leicestershire. Tuna and Hari came in at 5 and 6 and we managed to win all 6 singles and 2 of the doubles to give us a fantastic 8-1 win.
Day 3 – Berkshire
On the last day, we knew all we had to do was beat Berkshire to get promotion. Once again we got off to a flyer winning all 6 singles to give us the victory and a well deserved promotion to Group 2.
Congratulations to the boys for some outstanding performance and a very enjoyable and successful weekend. Thanks also my Vice-Captain, Paul Scullard, for all his hard work and to the players’ families that came to support us.
