Coach Development Programme

Coach Development Programme

Coaches inspiring young children to play

For learners: kickstart your career in tennis coaching, by securing a full time employed role, fully-funded LTA Coach Qualifications, and earnings of £25-30,000 per annum by the time you graduate in 18-24 months.

For employers: enhance your workforce, develop fresh talent for the future of your business or tennis club, and join with a credible programme facilitated by Hampshire & IOW Tennis and the LTA.

The Hampshire & IOW Coach Development Programme involves a cohort of learners, each working for an approved employer in a paid job, and each acquiring formal LTA Coach Qualifications and valuable work-based experiences across an 18-24 month period. It is an opportunity to ‘earn while you learn’ and fast-track a career in tennis and coaching.

Participants receive:

  • Paid employment (minimum 24 hours per week)
  • Paid holiday leave (5.6 weeks per year)
  • Hands-on coaching experience in the tennis sector
  • Formal Governing Body Qualifications: LTA Instructor (Level 2) and LTA Coach (Level 3)
  • Official LTA continuous professional development (CPD) opportunities
  • The opportunity to earn extra income through self-employed private lessons, as the programme progresses

Please note: This programme is not a statutory-regulated Apprenticeship. Those interested in this route should visit here or contact the LTA’s apprenticeship partner, Coach Core.
